Issues which the lecture addresses
The lecture based on longyear experiences of the author in researching and developing of floating urban structures. Urban Water must not be a dangerous element, much more are included high potentials for innovative solutions in urban settlement.
Short analysis of the above issues
It is a very simply solution to bring urban structures in a floating movement. So it´s possible to protect new houses against floods and to settle in floodrisk areas under the sealevel. Principal this are a very old solution, but it was fogotten in last years. Further are the settlement on the Water a innovative and sustainable modell for increasing Megacities and Towns wihout using more land.
Propositions for addressing the issue
The both most important propostions of the Lecture are firstly the urban settlement on Water areas. The author had developed a floating system of a plattform for various settlements like houses, public uses etc. This system is innovative and well designed.
With this system it´s possible to construct houses in floodareas for living at home while the flood periode.
Further are floating homes a solution to increase the Megacities of the World without more and more landuse. The researching work of the author shows how it´s possible to bring complete urban quarters at the Water.
