Metropolis Observatory
Monday, June 25th a conference was held in Brussels to present the Metropolis Observatory’s fourth issue paper: “Egalitarian metropolitan spaces”. The paper was written by Ana Falú, the coordinator of UN Habitat’s Gender Hub, and sparks a debate on how public policies need to incorporate a gender perspective on a metropolitan scale.
The event was co-organised by the Brussels-Capital Region and held at the headquarters of the European Committee of the Regions. Jean-Luc Vanraes, the political representative for the Government of the Brussels-Capital Region, and Laura Pérez, Councillor for Feminism and LGTBI at Barcelona City Council, were the opening speakers at the event.

El lunes 25 de junio se realizó una jornada en Bruselas para presentar el cuarto issue paper del Observatorio Metropolis: “Espacios metropolitanos igualitarios”. La publicación ha sido elaborada por la Ana Falú, coordinadora del Núcleo de Género de la ONU, y lanza un debate sobre la necesidad de aliar la visión de género a las políticas públicas en escala metropolitana.
Coorganizado por la Región de Bruselas Capital y realizado en la sede del Comité Europeo de las Regiones, el evento fue inaugurado por Jean-Luc Vanraes, representante político del Gobierno de Bruselas Capital, y Laura Pérez, concejala de feminismos y LGTBI del Ayuntamiento de Barcelona.
