The Faculty of Architecture and Landscape at the Leibniz University Hanover is one of Germany’s premier centers for over 1000 students of architecture, landscape architecture, environmental planning, urban planning, and urban design. Its Institute of Landscape Architecture focusses on the design, technology, history, representation and vegetation of open spaces in urban contexts. It has about 300 students enrolled in a 3 year Bachelor and 2 year Master program.
Inside the institute Professor Christian Werthmann leads the department “Landscape Architecture and Design”. His department focusses on the threats and potentials of landscape in low-income neighborhoods. He also coordinates the Informal Urbanism Hub of UNI since Fall 2013.
