Vegetables Bag

Description of activity
The activity is based on selling local and seasonal vegetables and fruits to Students (also bread, eggs and milk are sold often). Local farmers that cannot sell their products in the current food chain (supermarkets) are contacted and they become the engine and fuel of this project. The goal is not only to provide alternative food networks, the main goal is to promote and raise awareness amongst students;they have to know that other supply chains exist and from where the food is coming. Normally not so common veggies are offered so that people are aware of the huge variety of products.Vegan and vegetarian recipes are included along the bag to provide ways of cooking the recent bought products. We worked along with the Green Office but we worked on the project individually and in our free time. No profit is obtained from our action.

More and more people and university stuff join our weekly (or bi-weekly) selling.They become are of where the products are coming and the options that each season offers, product wise.
How the impact of the activity was measured
We can only measure it based on the number of subscription. There are two options: 1. counting the number of people that request joining our mail list- if they want to be part of our newsletter and receive info and updates of our next delivery. 2. Counting the number of people buying really the veggie bag.

Additional notes
The process is sometimes complex depending on availability of products, they change week to week and also, including not so common products might dissuade students from buying it.
