Additional Comments
Our Centre for Comparative Construction Research (CCCR) has international expertise in purchasing power parity (PPP) and construction productivity. The Centre made a major contribution to Turner & Townsend’s International Construction Cost Survey, both in 2013-14 and ongoing for future editions, through the provision of a novel purchasing power parity method used to compute comparative cost data for 23 countries (http://www.turnerandtownsend.com/ICC-2013.html). This publication uses a new model provided by CCCR for the determination of PPP to compare construction prices for a range of building types, labour, material and equipment items across 23 countries. It is used widely by cost consultants, clients, governments and media outlets to evaluate the relative performance of construction activities in different locations, and is a high-profile activity for the Centre.
