Accelerating the SDGs and the LOCAL PROJECT CHALLENGE

We invite you to join the Local Project Challenge, an opportunity to develop local projects with local partners that respond to the SDGs. This is Stage 2 of our project to accelerate awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals.

Key dates:
Expression of Interest: by August 1, 2019
Project Ideas posted online: by September 1, 2019
Fully developed Local Project: by December 1, 2019
Announcement of  Certificate of Excellence Awards: by December 23, 2019
Projects posted online: by January 20, 2020
Announcement of People’s Choice Awards: by February 13, 2020, in Abu Dhabi

As part of STAGE 3, selected projects will be exhibited at UN World Urban Forum 10, Abu Dhabi: February 8-13, 2020. Participants are invited to attend and take part in the program of associated events.

To those of you who participated in  Stage 1, our sincere thanks. Over 1000 people responded  to the survey which asked, “ How are the SDGs travelling in your world?”

We will post the results soon. Here is a snapshot. Respondents by type: Teachers/researchers: 31% ; Students: 10% ; Urban professionals: 42%; Civil Society: 17%  | Respondents  by age: 18-24: 8%; 25-34: 25%; 45-54: 19%; 55-64: 15%; 65+: 8%.
