Description
The Institute is established over three decade ago, by the Federal Government of Nigeria. The primary goal of establishing the Institute is professionalization of the transport and logistics sector of the Nigeria economy and West Africa sub-region, through training and retraining of workshop as well as conduct of surveys on transport and logistics issues.
On manpower development, the institute runs a short-term training program of 3 days to a maximum of 2-week duration in diverse areas of transport and logistics. Also, the institute has long-term programs leading to the award of Certificate; Diploma; Advanced Diploma; Postgraduate Diploma and Masters in Transport and Logistics. The postgraduate programs are conducted in collaboration with Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. The Institute is a corporate member of Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport ( CILT) International, United Kingdom. All our programs are accredited by CILT International.
Aside from manpower development, the Institute has to its credit series of researches conducted on diverse areas of Transport and Logistics among these are: Master plan on Integrated Transport Infrastructure, Baseline study of BRT Corridors in Lagos, Kano and Kaduna Nigeria
